What’s a “Meet & Greet”?
Think of it as a first date—but with less awkward small talk and more tail wags. It’s when the Pet Sitter and Pet Owner meet up before the official pet-sitting gig begins. No surprises. No drama. Just a friendly intro so you know the person feeding your fur baby isn’t a total weirdo (or worse, someone who doesn’t know how to open a treat jar).
During this paw-some meeting, the Pet Sitter gets the lowdown on all the important stuff—like your pet’s allergies, quirks, irrational fear of vacuum cleaners, feeding schedule, and which squeaky toy is their soulmate. It’s also the perfect time to spill the tea on your pet’s personality (diva, cuddle monster, part-time sock thief—you name it).
In short, the “Meet & Greet” makes sure everyone’s barking up the same tree before the pet sitting begins.
During the Meet & Greet (aka “Let’s Talk About Your Fur Baby”)
- Your Pet’s Personality (AKA: The Drama, the Sass, and the Cuteness)
- Does your dog believe they’re a cat? Does your cat think they’re royalty? We need to know.
- Share all the weird little quirks, favourite toys, and games (yes, chasing invisible ghosts counts).
- Mention any separation anxiety, clinginess, or full-blown soap opera meltdowns when left alone.
- Is your pet a “sharing is caring” type… or a “touch my toy and I’ll growl” type?
- Do they moonlight as an escape artist or part-time fridge raider? Tell us now before the great jailbreak happens.
- Behaviour with Others (Or: Will They Be a Social Butterfly or a Grumpy Gremlin?)
- House trained? Mostly house trained? "Oops I did it again" trained?
- Do they pee with excitement? Poop from nerves? Let’s keep it real.
- Do they love everyone, or do they need 72 hours and a treat bribe to warm up?
- Are they the life of the dog park or more of a solo act?
- Care Instructions (The VIP Treatment Plan)
- Let’s go over your pet’s five-star requirements.
- Be sure your Booking Form is filled out, because mind reading is sadly not a skill we have… yet.
- Routine (Because Pets Are Basically Tiny Furry CEOs)
- Mealtimes: Are we talking 7 a.m. sharp or “whenever they give you the stare”?
- Potty breaks or litter scoop schedules—let’s keep things... sanitary.
- Walks, zoomies, fetch sessions—what’s the daily exercise drama?
- Are treats a special reward or a lifestyle?
- Medications and Allergies (Because Your Pet’s Health is Priority #1)
- Meds? Tell us what, when, how, and if we need to disguise it in a spoonful of peanut butter.
- Is your vet info up to date in the “Pet Sitter Notes”? Just in case your pet decides to be dramatic.
- Health History (The Important Stuff)
- Any health quirks we should know about—limps, sensitivities, or mysterious past surgeries?
- Potty breaks or litter scoop schedules—let’s keep things... sanitary.
- Food & Water (AKA: The Sacred Mealtime Rituals)
- What food do they eat and how much?
- What NOT to feed (looking at you, chocolate, grapes, and random human snacks).
- What treats are approved and how often can we make your pet’s day?
- And—where is everything stored? Please don’t make us play hide and seek with kibble.
- Key Collection & Drop-Off
- We’ll pick up and return your key at a time that works for you—no juggling schedules or playing “hide the key” under the doormat. To help you skip this cost next time, we can leave your key in an agreed discreet spot on the final day of the sit. Even better, we’re happy to keep a spare key safe in our hands for your future bookings—secure, accessible, and ready whenever your pets need us. (We promise it’ll be safer than your pet’s secret snack stash!)
